What we can do.
We’re entering a world of chaos caused by Trump’s trade war and his choosing to betray American allies, trading partners and friendly neighbours, and to align
with our enemies in establishing a new World Order dominated by the military and economic power of the United States.
What can we do as entrepreneurs to stop the stupidity and the disastrous consequences for the global village – people and the planet – that Trump is turning America away from. Without digressing into political commentary and shouting at our elected leaders to fix it, I’m suggesting there is a business-to-business solution.
As enlightened entrepreneurs who respect the people, communities, governments and natural environment that enable our success, we have to work
against ruthless, irresponsible ego-driven leaders who do not care about anything except enhancing their wealth, power, and influence. That includes both the corporate CEOs and the elected politicians who are leading or facilitating Trump’s disruptive chaos.
We need to get the attention of our business partners and associates in the U.S. and in our own country and elsewhere to point out the permanent damage that will be done if we do not respond quickly and effectively to change course – away from an impending trade war, challenges to national sovereignty, and abandonment of long-standing support for international development, human rights, freedom and democracy.
Stop accepting the lies and misinformation used to justify irrational and irresponsible changes to established American policies on trade and international relations.
Start objecting and initiating corrective measures and work with business associates, customers, and suppliers to forcefully deliver the message to responsible business and political leaders to stop the stupidity. Stop the policies to inflict widespread pain without any long-term gain.
We need to re-establish the alliances and trade partnerships that have worked so well for us all and continue to improve lives throughout the global village.
Be better. Do Better. Be an Enlightened Entrepreneur.
