I am not a robot

And AI did not write this article.
It seems to me ironic (and frequently annoying), to have to confirm to a robot, “I am not a Robot!”

It’s even more disturbing when I’m being asked by a mechanical monkey robot.
Please don’t ever send me an email from Mail Chimp! It’s a terrible reflection on your professionalism, corporate branding, and sense of self worth. (Unless you’re a circus clown or your team mascot is a monkey. Just my opinion, no charge. 😉)
I understand that we need to protect our security and our privacy online and a first line of defense is confirmation of identity and authorization to access our personal data and finances. So it’s necessary to be patient and tolerate the annoying interruptions that are in our best interest and to recognize that ultimately we’re responsible for the decisions we make in haste to click on the wrong buttons.
Beware of the hackers and spammers who are also using very advanced technology and artificial intelligence to extract money from innocent but inattentive or naive victims. Be aware that the criminals are getting better at winning the battle of the robots, even against the best of security systems and the most sophisticated internet users.
Be safe and stay secure!
