Following the rich and famous

Why?

Western societies are fascinated by the rich and famous in every domain – sports and entertainment, arts and culture, business and politics. Why?

They’re considered famous because of all the attention they get and the cult-like followings they have. Why? Are they rich because they’re famous, or famous because they’re rich? Does it matter?

Some are famous for being famous and we’ve forgotten why. Others have astonishing talent and accomplishments that have been recognized world-wide and rewarded accordingly. Some are rich because they earned it. Others are rich because they inherited it or stole it. Some have used and abused people and the planet to enrich themselves at the expense of everyone else.

Does it matter how they became rich and famous? Yes, if we’re interested in learning from them how to get closer to being rich and famous ourselves. Or even just how to do better what they do so well.

Does it matter what they do with their power and influence? Celebrities are widely followed and imitated; do they say and do the right things to show the way for you and your children? Are their own parents and children proud of them? Or ashamed and embarrassed by them?

Choose carefully who you follow, who you listen to, and who you imitate. The loudest and most prominent celebrities may not be the best choice.

Be better. Do Better. Be an Enlightened Entrepreneur.
